36 Week Scan Recap

Sorry for the disjointed nature of these posts . . . the tons of shower photos mixed with actually having to work at work these last few days has put me a little behind!

Anyway, on Friday, Sept 13 we headed back to the specialist at KU for what would hopefully be our last growth scan. I won't leave you in suspense - it was completely good news! Daniel picked up almost 2 whole pounds. He was 3 pounds and 5 ounces at the 32 week scan and on Friday "Fatty" (nicknamed by his Dad) was sitting at 5 pounds and 7 ounces! Crazily enough, this is still below "average" at 41st percentile but I really don't care.

We are "green lit" for delivery - no magnesium or anything scary. So if labor starts on its own, we'll be allowed to go. Because Daniel is now considered a "normal" baby (anything about 4.5 pounds and below 10 pounds), they won't let me be later than 41 weeks. If I'm still pregnant at midnight on the 17th, they'll induce. He's predicted to be between 6.5 and 7 pounds at birth.

And now the pics! At this point I feel like you are all adept at reading these scan pics so I'll post them without the super-fun arrows of last time.

Profile shot (nose, upper lip and chin):

This was amazing - he yawned during the scan! Even the tech was giggling and saying it was pretty cool. If you're having trouble, this is a zoomed-in profile shot and you can see his nose, upper lip and open mouth.

Next up is his wee foot. Actually, not that wee. She said in real life his foot is just a bit under 3 inches. This is the bottom of his foot. Have a close look - see how the second toe is longer than the first? Just like his mom!

I always love it when they turn on the 3D - here's a full face look. Got to love that he always has his hands up!

Saving the best for last: check out Daniel's mad face!
